Global Health & Health Systems
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine
Fouad Fouad is Professor of Social Sciences and Global Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. His career spans both sides of the system he studies: fifteen years inside Syria's Ministry of Health, where he served as Director of Primary Health Care, followed by academic leadership at the American University of Beirut, King's College London, and LSTM. He co-led the Lancet–AUB Commission on Syria and serves on the Lancet Commission on Conflict Health and Migration. His work focuses on health systems in conflict, displacement, and recovery — and on who will rebuild them.
