Aula Abbara is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases in London and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. She co-founded the Syria Public Health Network and serves as a Commissioner for the Lancet Commission on Conflict Health and Migration. Her research addresses infectious disease, antimicrobial resistance in conflict settings, and the recovery of medical education and the health workforce in Syria. She is among the most influential voices writing in English on Syrian health and the rebuilding of its medical institutions.
